Those who have ever braved it
in the wild know that enduring black flies and energy bars is stressful enough for one day. Additional woes contributed by tent-pitching can sometimes sway one from the camping experience entirely. For folks like us, the French sporting-products company Decathlon has introduced the 2-Second Tent, a product which lives up to its name.
Pitching the tent simple: toss the canvas hut in the air. Once airborne, the tent erects itself as fiberglass hoops spring into position on both sides. Decathlon also boasts an easy tear-down, so while it won’t be 2 seconds, there’ll still be time for SPAM and baked beans afterwards.
The 2-Second Tent is currently available for a reasonable $69, especially when compared to the newest luxury umbrellas. One wonders which device would deploy first in the event of an unannounced rainstorm. My bet’s on the decathlon.

I like this tent! Is it heavier than others? How many people does it sleep? I am guessing two adults at most. Where to buy? This sounds like a perfect emergency kit addition !

I bought one and my friend used to work for the corporate office here in MA. There are currently 2 different sizes - one that sleeps 2 comfortably, and a 3 person tent which dwarfs the 2 person tent - only costing ~ $20-$30 more. Bargain if you ask me. I opted for the 2 person tent and would recommend this product over and over and over.
Campsite owner said goodluck to me after signing in well after sun down. 2 minutes later walking back to the office to get some ice, I said thanks, “I’m all set up.”
