First Glimpse of an Apple Store Redesign

Apple’s begun a complete design overhaul of its Apple Stores across the country, and we’ve got some snapshots that are sure to whet your Apple appetite.
The new design features a much more minimalist scheme, based on the same precepts from which the Apple Fifth Avenue Store was designed. Rather than using glass partitions to indicate separate product categories, all products are simply laid out on parallel tables, creating a simple and easy-to navigate flow of traffic through the store.
These photos are of a store in Columbus, Maryland in the Mall of Columbia. As you can see the store hasn’t opened yet, but the glass windows in the front of the store still make for quite a show.

According to a press release from SoftBank Mobile, the Japanese service provider has secured an agreement with Apple to bring the iPhone to Japan this year. The deal will ensure the iPhone’s first official access in Japan’s market.
