Google Video now offers video of lectures and other college courses from UC Berkeley, and all without paying back thousands in student loans.

Google is the latest player in the online education trend, offering video versions of several courses from the University of California, Berkeley campus. The online catalog offers a total of 250 hours of video from the UC Berkeley curriculum on topics ranging from Physics for Future Presidents to the more suiting Search Engines: Technology, Society and Business.

And while UC Berkeley is the first institution to use Google Video as an avenue to the internet, they’re not the first to make such a move. Yale recently opened up its campus to the digital community, offering courses through its own website. Both Princeton and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have also begun campaigns to make video courses available online. None of the online classes, however, can be counted for actual credit.
