Nintendo to Release DS MP3 Player in October

Buzz about a rumored Nintendo DS mp3 player confirmed by a brochure at the Leipzip Games Convention.
While Nintendo DS junkies in Japan have been able to get their music fix from Play-Yan, American Nintendo DS and GameBoy Advance/Micro owners have had to whistle to themselves in the meanwhile. A brochure found at the convention suggests that Nintendo is set to release an MP3 player add-on both for the DS and Game Boy Advance on October 6th.
Like the similar Play-Yan, the Nintendo mp3 adapter will use SD Memory cards up to 2GB in capacity with an 1/8″ headphone jack, but without the video capablity of the Play-Yan. Still, all this at the modest price of $40 makes it a good alternative to those who aren’t willing to shell out 70 bucks for the Play-Yan.
While the release date is certain for a European release, the exact date of U.S. release is not yet certain, although there was no indication that it was different than the European release.
